The Sheffield City Council has promised improvements after torrential rainfall caused huge disruption to this summer's Tramlines festival.

Hillsborough Park, where the annual festival is held, is still out of action months after the event, as heavy rain transformed the indie concert into a mud pit.

There were rumours that the festival needed to find a new location for 2024 after residents and locals complained about the damage. However, it's been confirmed that next year's event will stay in Hillsborough Park.

Lisa Firth, council director of parks, leisure and libraries said, "We are going to put the park right now and then we’re going to get into the detailed discussions about how we stop this happening again next year and we won’t allow it to happen next year."

The Council say they are working with organisers to ensure the damage caused to Hillsborough Park this summer is not repeated.
