Two arrested after hit and run crash in Doncaster

A 76 year old woman has been seriously injured in a hit and run crash in Doncaster.

It happened yesterday at around 9am on Littlemoor Lane in Balby.

Its believed a white Ford Transit tipper truck hit the woman while attempting to reverse.

The driver and passenger allegedly got out of the vehicle, seeing the 76 year old on the floor. They then left the scene.

The woman is being treated in hospital for serious injuries to her brain and pelvis.

Police later recovered the vehicle and made two arrests.

A 38 year old man is being questioned on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of the crash.

He's since been bailed.

A second, 56 year old man, remains in police custody on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Police are still seeking witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have dashcam footage recorded in the area at the time.
