Teenager jailed for killing boyfriend in Denaby Main
Megan Sambrook, 18, admitted manslaughter and was jailed for 5 years
An 18-year-old woman who stabbed her boyfriend at their home in Doncaster has been jailed for five years for manslaughter.
Emergency services found 18-year-old Lewis Guest with a stab wound to his chest at a flat off Wadsworth Street in Denaby Main on Wednesday 8 March.
He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Police found a knife hidden in the kitchen of the flat, which was forensically linked to Lewis’ injury.
They arrested his partner, Megan Sambrook, at the flat the following day.
Detective Constable Jill Rankin, who investigated Lewis’ death, said: “A young man lost his life in deeply tragic circumstances and our thoughts are with Lewis’ family during what remains a very difficult time.
“Megan has accepted responsibility for her actions and understands that, although she may not have intended to kill Lewis, her violence that day led to her partner’s death.
“This is something she will have to come to terms with and face the consequences of her actions in prison.”
