A number of flood warnings are in place across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire with heavy rain from Storm Babet set to continue into the night.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say they've already had a number of calls from drivers trapped in floodwater and they're asking people to avoid it.
The bad weather is also causing issues on the roads and on public transport.
There are currently no trains running through Rotherham Central, and Northern's asking people not to travel between Sheffield and Lincoln.
Chesterfield has been badly hit too, with the college telling students to go home, and a number of flood warnings in place across the town.
Road closures are causing issues also.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue say they're evacuating some homes in the Goyt Side area, as crews deal with "significant flooding".
Area Manager Paul Moreland said: “Emergency services are dealing with significant flooding across the county with 20 residents being rescued from properties in the Goyt Side area of Chesterfield.
“The rescues that we have carried out in that area highlight the serious nature of the impact of Storm Babet and I need to ensure people listen to our warnings and follow our advice.”
Rotherham United say there's no plans for a pitch inspection ahead of their Championship game against Ipswich.
Doncaster Rovers are still going ahead with their trip to Tranmere in League Two.
