South Yorkshire Police made 22 thousand arrests in 2022

New figures show there were 372,000 incidents through 2022, with thousands of arrests also made

South Yorkshire Police recently revealed their Performance Statistics for 2022. Sharing there had been over 22,649 arrests made in the last year, with 10,512 charged alleged criminals.

It was also disclosed that there had been over 372,000 incidents recorded.

In a Facebook post on the South Yorkshire Police Page, it was said there had been 630,000 calls answered over the previous year.

The force also addressed the passing of HM Elizabeth II, stating that "many of officers went to support one of the biggest policing operations in our lifetime. "

It was also said there had been a "spike" in the amount of fires across the region, which saw record- breaking temperatures in the summer.

Finally, there were over 11,474 stop searches carried out in 2022, and 84,532 issued notices for driving offences.

The force also said, this last year has "undoubtedly been one of the most memorable for all of us."
