Sheffield City Council leader Bob Johnson loses his seat

The former Labour councillor was beaten by the Green Party candidate

The leader of Sheffield City Council Bob Johnson has lost his Hillsborough seat to the Green Party.

Christine Gilligan Kubo won the ward with 2337 votes. Johnson came in second place with 2013 votes.

Results of the election yesterday have been coming in this afternoon - with a third of the council's seats up for re-election.

If the Labour Party loses seven seats in Sheffield they will lose control of the council.

Bob Johnson - Labour Party - 2013

Lesley Blyth - Conservative Party Candidate - 906

Will Sapwell - Liberal Democrats - 314
