Parts of Swinton are completely underwater this morning due to a burst water pipe.

Properties in S64 and S65 postcodes are affected with either no water or very low water pressure.

Yorkshire Water say they don't know yet when it will be sorted but their teams on site - they say it's caused major damage.

A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said:

“Our teams have been on site at in Swinton this morning dealing with a 18-inch burst main. We are working hard to rezone supplies to reduce the impact on properties in the area.

“The burst main has caused significant damage to the road. To allow repairs of the main and assessment of the damage to the carriageway to be completed safely, the road has been closed and diversions are in place.

“We are working as quickly as possible to carry out the repairs and identify vulnerable customers in the area. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and are working hard to keep disruption to a minimum.”

It's thought schools and businesses will be affected today, along with travel:
