Investigation after sexual assault in Sheffield park

An investigation is underway after reports of a sexual assault in Sheffield.

Police say a woman was approached by a man in the park area of Parkwood Springs - where he stroked her arm and kissed her cheek.

The man was described as white, over 50 and about 5ft8.

A Police statement said:

"Officers in Sheffield are appealing for information following a reported sexual assault in the city.

"On Friday 23 June at about 5.30pm, it is reported a man approached a woman on her own in the park area of Parkwood Springs where he is said to have stroked her arm and attempted to kiss her. Despite the victim declining him numerous times he reportedly kissed her on the cheek.

"He was white and described as aged over 50, about 5ft 8in tall, balding hair, and of a medium build.

"Officers are now appealing for anyone with information, or anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the man described to come forward.
