People planning to go out in South Yorkshire encouraged 'not to lose sight' of what they're drinking
It's after a recent rise in the number of drink spiking cases since the night-time economy re-opened this summer
Revellers who're planning to go out across South Yorkshire this bank-holiday weekend are being advised to 'never lose sight' of what they're drinking.
The county's police force are issuing the advice, following several recent reports of drink spiking across local nightclubs and bars.
Chief Inspector Stuart Walne has these prevention tips:
"Don't leave glasses unattended, don't go off to dance and then come back to a drink which you've left on a table and don't accept a drink off a stranger.
"If people do feel unwell, or they're with a friend who feels unwell, then it's important to seek medical advice.
"You don't know what's been put in that drink, and it could have an adverse impact."
Meanwhile, he also wants us to remember one service in particular which's available at every venue:
"We've always had 'Ask for Angela'. Every Premises has this service, so if you're not feeling well or you're with someone who isn't well, then go to the bar and ask for Angela.
"Bar staff will immediately recognise that this means either yourself or somebody you're with needs that extra support."
