A South Yorkshire woman - who lost her home last year in a house fire - tells us the 'traumatic' experience has left her feeling 'desperate to help others in need'.

Doncaster mum-of-six Kelly Walker ended up living out of a hotel - until recently with her family - after the incident last October.

She runs a foodbank locally in the Woodlands area of the city & says she's started making more products available there for people without a permanent home:

"Winter warmer packs are now available here to help those in need and homeless packs.

"People that are living in hotels don't have a cooker or those type of facilities; all you have is a kettle.

"So, these packs include food options that can be made with a kettle, which is useful for families in this kind of situation.

"I have a lot of empathy for our members since my family home got burnt down last year.

"You can feel and understand exactly what their worries and needs are.

"I cry with some of the people who visit the foodbank, as their stories break my heart every time.

"There's a lot of deprivation here in the Woodlands area."

Nobody from Kelly's family was injured in the house fire that left them homeless last year, and since then, they've found a new permanent place to live.
