The Conservative MP for Don Valley tells us he's determined to secure the funding for a new 'fit for purpose' hospital in Doncaster.

With parliament set to resume next week - Nick Fletcher says he'll 'campaign remorselessly' to the government - until the city has a new hospital.

He says it's long overdue - as Doncaster Royal Infirmary first opened almost 100 years ago:

"Even if we got a new hospital, it'd probably be ten years before it ended up being built.

"So, when I get back down to Westminster, I'll be pressing the government for a new hospital, and I won't stop until we get a new hospital.

"Doncaster doesn't just want a new hospital; Doncaster desperately needs a new hospital.

"The place where the hospital would go would also have the effect of creating footfall back into Doncaster.

"It'd do wonders for our city to get a new hospital.

"I want to get a commitment from government for Doncaster to get a new hospital facility that the city deserves.

"The staff there deserve a new hospital, as well as the patients."

Doncaster Royal Infirmary first opened in 1930.
