Crash involving new tram-train and lorry in Sheffield
It happened on the first day of new services between Rotherham and Sheffield
A Sheffield Supertram has derailed after a collision with a lorry in Darnall.
South Yorkshire police say no one was seriously hurt in the incident on Staniforth Road but it has been causing long delays with road closures and diversions in place.
The lorry and tram collided at the crossing near Woodburn Road.
South Yorkshire Police said: We are currently dealing with a collision between a tram and a lorry on Staniforth Road Sheffield.
Road closures are in place. At this time no-one is thought to be seriously injured.
Please avoid the area and plan alternative routes.''
Firefighters also confirmed they had been called to the scene.
Stagecoach Supertram said in a tweet: Due to major incident at Staniforth Road trams from City will be terminating at Cricket Inn Road.
Trams from Meadowhall will be terminating at Arena. We apologise for any inconvenience.''
