Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder charged after sandwich referee rant
It follows comments made after their defeat to Crystal Palace
The FA has charged Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder following a rant about a linesman eating a sandwich.
Wilder went to see referee Tony Harrington following last month's 3-2 defeat to Crystal palace in the Premier League - and wasn't happy with one of the assistants eating at the time.
The Blades boss said it showed a "lack of respect" and also questioned the performance of the referees.
The Football Association has sanctioned Wilder with a charge of improper conduct.
It said in a statement: "Chris Wilder has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3.1 in relation to media comments that followed Sheffield United's Premier League match against Crystal Palace on Tuesday 30 January.
"It's alleged that the manager's comments constitute improper conduct in that they imply bias and or/attack the integrity of the referee, or referees generally, and/or bring the game into disrepute.
"Chris Wilder has until Friday, 16 February, to provide his response."
