A man who died after being stabbed in Barnsley has been named as 35-year-old Carl Dixon.

A man who died after being stabbed in Barnsley has been named as 35-year-old Carl Dixon.

Police were called to a property on George Street, Worsbrough, on Tuesday night.

Carl's family have paid tribute, saying 'he was loved more than he will ever know'.

4 people arrested on suspicion of murder are still in Police custody.

A Police statement said:

"A man who died after being stabbed in Barnsley earlier this week has been named as 35-year-old Carl Dixon.

"Police were called to a property on George Street, Worsbrough, at 11.19pm on Tuesday (5 September) following a report that a man had been stabbed.

"He was pronounced dead a short time later. A postmortem examination conducted yesterday (Wednesday) concluded he died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Carl’s family has paid tribute to him, saying:

“As a family, we are devastated at the loss of Carl. He was loved more than he will ever know, and was a great brother and uncle.

“We kindly ask for our privacy to be respected at this time, as we process this tragic loss of life.

“It is our hope that justice is secured for him.”

A total of four people have now been arrested as the murder investigation continues.

Three men, aged 44, 25 and 24, and a 45-year-old woman, all arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday, (Wednesday) remain in police custody.
