Unprecedented demand for post-lockdown reunion
Huge 80's and 90's gig raising funds for Cash for Kids
Dancefloor-starved Sheffielders are truly ready to party when restrictions are lifted – and that’s official.
Over half the tickets for the “Back To The Roxy” event were snapped up just days after the date was announced.
The event, which re-creates one of Sheffield’s most famous nightclubs, celebrates the city’s first weekend of freedom and comes just days after the planned lifting of all restrictions.
The “Back to The Roxy” event – which is booked to take place on Saturday, June 26th – is promising to be “the reunion of a lifetime”.
Over 1,000 tickets for the event have now been sold.
Few venues were more high profile than Sheffield’s Roxy nightclub that operated in the city in the 1980s and 1990s.
The nightclub became famous nationally as one of the venues for the ‘Hitman & Her’ TV series. Everyone from Kylie Minogue to the London Boys performed there.
Dirty Stop Outs’ Neil Anderson – who is helping organise the ‘Back To The Roxy’ event - said: “Demand for tickets has been truly unprecedented. But it’s not surprising after almost a year of restrictions. Our ‘Back to The Roxy’ event really is set to be one of the biggest parties Sheffield has ever seen.”
The reunion event is also set to raise hundreds for the region’s most needy kids through its support of Hallam FM’s Cash For Kids.
The party is set to take place in the Roxy venue’s former Arundel Street home which is now the 02 Academy.
The ‘Back To The Roxy’ event follows the success of a similar night back in 2019.
Tickets are £10 and available from https://www.gigantic.com
