Over £30,000 raised for Cash for Kids Day!

Thank you to all our fundraisers who are helping the cost of living crisis

Author: Allan Ogle

This February we launched our 2022 Cash for Kids Day guaranteeing 100% of the funds raised would be granted to organisations helping the most vulnerable families through the cost of living crisis.

Big John @ Breakfast on Hallam FM and the team on Greatest Hits Radio asked South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire to dust off their running shoes and run, jog or walk 5k a Day in May or set up a similar challenge to help raise funds for this years appeal and thousands more of you engaged with fundraising activities in their schools and workplaces.

Here's a round up of some of the stories of the day:

City Taxis

CC33 organised a charity football match at Doncaster Rovers Eco-Power Stadium and needed a worthy opponent, up stepped City Taxis...

The big match

CC33 vs City Taxi's on paper is a bigger game than Liverpool v Real Madrid!

The match didn't disappoint, a thrilling 3-3 draw and City Taxi's missed a penalty to win it in the last minute! A rematch later in the year will be on the cards to settle this one.

Sugar rush

These box sets of Cash for Kids Day muffins won the day!

Big John @ Breakfast 5k a Day RACE

Allan & Ellie from Cash for Kids joined team Liesl at Bramall Lane as she challenged Big John to see who could walk the fastest 5k from United to Wednesday with Big John starting at Hillsborough, we're sure Liesl won but fairly sure Big John will contest it!

See their videos of the race in action below.

Incredible effort and a fabulous culture at their offices. Big John paid them a visit to say thanks and help them celebrate.

A busy time in the property market didn't stop all their branches in Sheffield, Rotherham and Chesterfield by donning an array of activity to raise just shy of £2,000 and there are still more funds coming in!

It's not too late!
