People on Yorkshire Coast urged to become volunteers at vaccine sites

People on the Yorkshire Coast are being urged to become a volunteer at vaccination sites.
It is as the Prime Minister has issued an appeal calling on the public to come forward to assist the speed up in the roll-out of the booster programme.
It is hoped the third jab will help stop the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant.
71-year-old Andrea Mason is from Scarborough and she is a volunteer for Saint Catherine's helping out at the Rugby Club. She said:
"Oh it's wonderful. I absolutely love it. It's a happy place. People are really happy that they're getting their vaccinations and have been since the first one, because I've been through the first, second and now the booster. Some people are nervous but we try and put their minds at rest.
"You never know before you go what you're going to do. I'm usually nine times out of 10 on the door meeting and greeting people. Some of the gentleman that work up there who are volunteering are usually outside in the cold, but I usually just meet-and-greet and just point people in the right direction.
"If you get a chance and you fancy just doing your little bit, please try and volunteer because they need volunteers up there. The ones that are up there can't always go at that particular time that they're required. I think there's quite a shortage, it's good fun and everybody is just so nice."
