People across the Yorkshire Coast are being urged to seek help if they are being abused on social media.
It comes as pressure is growing for anonymous online accounts to be banned so people cannot hide behind accounts to troll others.
Jack Moore from Hull and East Yorkshire Mind said:
"It is awful that people feel the need to use social media for things like this. It's really not OK. Obviously it's great that some people can deal with this and turn it into a positive, but we do know that for some people it's not always the case and it can have a really bad impact on their mental health.
"Anonymous accounts that shouldn't even be a thing anywhere because it does give those individuals a platform to use it not in the best way; and maybe abuse other people, cause people to have depression, anxiety and it can have a really awful effect.
"We've seen so many people be supportive of Hull and East Yorkshire over the last year and express themselves on social media for how they feel about our charity. It really is a great platform. It really allows us to look after our creative side and express ourselves that maybe we can't do in the street.
"Some people that I've not seen in the last year, but social media has enmabled me to still video chat and keep in contact with them. It allows you to find new friends and promote worthwhile causes etc."
We have contacted Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for their thoughts but we have not heard back yet.
