Police launch urgent appeal following serious collision in York

North Yorkshire Police have launched an urgent appeal following a serious collision on the York Ring Road.

Emergency services were called to the crash in the Rufforth area of the city on the A1237 at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday (June 29th).

The collision also resulted in the closure of the B1224 - known as the Wetherby Road going towards Rufforth.

North Yorkshire Police have said that the scene is "expected" to remain closed for several hours as investigations into the collision are launched.

Drivers are now being urged to avoid the area and follow diversions as and when they are put in place.

Now, the force is launching an appeal for information and witnesses to help piece the events that led to the incident together.

Those who have any specific information about the collision, including having dashcam footage of the area at the time of the crash is being particularly welcomed.
