Warnings of increase in traffic around North Yorkshire this Easter
National Highways says it will be busy on the A64
We are being warned to expect an increase in traffic in and around North Yorkshire throughout this Easter bank holiday.
National Highways says roadworks in some parts of Yorkshire, like the M62 and the M1, will remain in place but, in other areas across the region they will be lifted to reduce delays.
Dave Wilson, Duty Operations Manager, said: "The key message from us is always the same; check your route before you set off and check your vehicle before you set off which is a key message to preventing a breakdown such as fuel, oil and bulbs etc.
"We're looking at the M1 and M62 corridors that are likely to be busy as well as the routes like the A64 if you're heading to and from the east coast, particularly if the weather is nice.
"As always, we strive to keep as many lanes open on as many roads as we possibly can particularly at peak travel periods like Easter. We're very aware people are heading off on a long weekend so we'll do whatever we can do keep as many lanes open as possible."
