Walrus wanders off before midnight
Scarborough New Year fireworks were cancelled 'cos of the surprise marine mammal visit
The walrus - whose New Year's Eve arrival in Scarborough - caused the cancellation of the town's firework display to see in 2023 - reportedly swam off before midnight.
Crowds gathered on Saturday to see the surprise visitor, who's called Thor.
A decision was taken to stop the pyrotechnic display which was planned to see off 2022 so as not to disturbed the tusked creature.
He obviously didn't get the memo though and left before it would've been due to begin.
