Scarborough drivers told about road closure extension due to utility work

Scalby Road is expected to be shut until the middle of this month

Utility works are continuing in Scarborough with drivers being told about an extension to a road closure.

North Yorkshire County Council said: "The Scalby Road closure is expected to be extended until mid-February while utility works continue. Northern Gas Network worked over the weekend using temporary two-way lights on Falsgrave Road.

"Northern Powergrid has continued with its diversion works and both utility companies are continuing their works this week. Our contractor has laid the new binder course on the footway on Scalby Road and the pedestrian crossing.

"This week our contractor has started the footway works on Falsgrave Road, which includes installing four tree pits."
