There's a drop-in session today for anyone who's interested in accommodating Ukrainian refugees in Scarborough.

It'll be every Monday, between 12pm and 2pm at Newby and Scalby Library, where potential and existing sponsors and guests can meet and share ideas.

It's also a chance for guests themselves to meet other.

It's been set-up by the Scarborough Sunflower Appeal on facebook.

Co-ordinator, Iain Butterworth, said:

"I'll be there, a number of other supporters of the appeal and a number of guests and sponsors attend, just to again see what's available, to get any advice and to impart their advice and experiences to others who are going through the whole process.

"It gives the opportunity for potential sponsors to be there. There was a man who attended a meeting. He heard about us on the facebook page and he had been searching for a guest for almost six weeks. He'd put himself on various websites, but he just had no response at all."
