Two people rescued after being cut off by tide near Scarborough

Emergency services on the Yorkshire Coast have rescued two people who were cut off by the tide near Scarborough.

Emergency services on the Yorkshire Coast have rescued two people who were cut off by the tide near Scarborough.

It happened at around 3pm at Cornelian Bay and Holbeck.

Members from Scarborough RNLI's in-shore lifeboat attended the call-out and took the pair back to their boathouse.

Scarborough Lifeboat operations manager Andrew Volans said:

“We advise everyone walking on the coast to please be aware of the tide times, which are published online, and plan your route carefully”.

Meanwhile, Bridlington Lifeboat, Flamborough Lifeboat, Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 912, Coastguard Rescue Teams Filey and Bridlington are working with Humberside Police at a on-going search incident at Flamborough Head.
