Two illegal drivers clocked on Yorkshire coast

Police say they'll be in touch with the motorists in question.

Two drivers have been clocked breaking the law on the Yorkshire coast over the weekend.

North Yorkshire Police's Traffic Bureau says on Friday, a vehicle was recorded overtaking on solid white lines and travelling at 103mph on the A165 near Filey.

This stretch of road has a speed limit of 60mph.

Officers say the driver will hear from them soon and will need to explain their actions in court.

On Saturday, a vehicle was recorded travelling at 96mph on the A171 near Whitby.

This stretch of road has a speed limit of 60mph.

Enquiries will begin shortly and the driver will hear from the police.
