Police are investigating after a teenage girl had transphobic comments directed at her in York.

It happened between 11.30am and 12.10pm on Wednesday (28 February 2024) on the top deck of the number 4 bus travelling between Blossom Street and Chaloners Road.

The victim was subjected to threats of violence and a tirade of transphobic personal comments.

An item was taken from the victim who was chased from the bus by the suspects.

The suspects included a boy and three girls all aged around 15.

All four have been identified with two girls having already been arrested and released on conditional bail.
