Train line blocked due to flooding between Middlesbrough and Whitby
Passengers are urged to check before travelling

There's disruption on the rail network up and down the country today - with a number of operators - including LNER and Northern - saying a number of services have been cancelled because of a shortage of train crew.
This all comes on the day of the final of Euro 2024 - with it expected that thousands of passengers will be travelling to meet friends and family to mark an occasion which could see England lift their first major trophy since 1966.
To add to travel woes in the North East and on the Yorkshire Coast, passengers are urged to check before travelling because of flooding on the line between Middlesbrough and Whitby.
On social media, Northern said: "Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Middlesbrough and Whitby the line is blocked.
"Train services running to and from these stations will be terminated at and started back from Battersby.
"To assist customers to complete their journey, road transport will run between Battersby - Whitby.
"The buses will be operated by E-Travel and will depart at the following times:
"09:25 Battersby - Whitby
"10:45 Whitby - Battersby, then drop off as required to Middlesbrough."
We are told that the line has since reopened - but all lines are blocked between Harrogate and York because of a points failure - so you are as always advised to check the status of your journey before travelling.
