The MP for Thirsk, Malton and Filey says climate change DOES need to be addressed.

Kevin Hollinrake is AT COP26 in Glasgow and is involved in a meeting with the British Chamber of Commerce today.

He says businesses must get involved and many want to do the right thing.

But Kevin said:

"The trouble is the UK only accounts for one percent of international emissions and we need the big polluters, China, India and the USA, to particularly play their parts and to do a lot more if we're really going to be serious about tackling this.

"I think a lot of commitments have been made already and obviously you can say, and always will be said, that we're not going far and fast enough and I think that's fair to say on this occasion but it's created a real kind of a key moment.

"Some very strong words from the Prime Minister, and quite rightly, that nations have to wake up. I think the most important in all these conversations is not what the politicians say, it's what the people say. If people in every nation on the planet demand action then action will happen. Politicians respond to public outcry."

He also added that everyone can make a difference.
