Tears for Fears will be unable to perform at Scarborough Open Air Theatre this weekend.

They were due to play on Saturday 16th July.

The band says Curt Smith is recovering from a 'serious rib injury'.

A statement from Cuffe and Taylor, venue promoters at Scarborough Open Air Theatre, said:

"Following yesterday's news that Tears for Fears would be unable to perform at Scarborough Open Air Theatre this Saturday, the band have been exploring options to reschedule the date. Unfortunately due to various logistical and operational reasons this is not possible.

"All ticket holders will now receive a full refund, automatically, from their point of purchase. Please allow up to 10 days for this to be processed.

"On behalf of everyone at Scarborough Open Air Theatre we wish Curt a speedy recovery and we hope to welcome Tears for Fears back to the venue in the future."
