A mum who is part of a Scarborough and Whitby mum's group has been speaking about how she is coping with parenting during this lockdown.

It comes as the Duchess of Cambridge has admitted parenting during lockdown has left her "exhausted".

She has urged families to "reach out to loved ones and friends" to help them deal with their mental health.

SJ Parker, who is from Scarborough and Whitby Mumbler, said:

"I have two children that are eight and six. We're finding it tricky but we're trying to keep a smile on our face and just get through,. If things don't get done, we try and not to beat ourselves up about it.

"I can be good fun, I can make things fun, I can make homeschool fun but I'm not a six-year-old and I'm not an eight-year-old and I find that really hard. We're sort of struggling our way through that with Zoom calls and things like that.

"It just seems like 'here we go again'. We don't seem to have quite the positivity that the end is quite as in sight as it was. At least last time we had the summer holidays to look forward even if it was the summer holidays stuck in our own garden, at least we were looking forward to nice weather."
