East Riding of Yorkshire Council is advising that there has been a substantial land slide at Sewerby steps, near Bridlington.

The area is cordoned off and the Coastal Engineer's contractors will clear the path as soon as it is safe to do so.

Kirsty Salisbury, the council’s General Manager (Coastal), said:

“This is all part of the natural erosion process, but the council are looking at ways to minimise the frequency of the steps becoming inaccessible.

“Please do not use these steps until the debris has been removed.”
