Science and Engineering Week starts at Scarborough Spa
The event is now in its 12th year
Around 2,000 young people are expected in Scarborough over the next three days as part of the town's Science and Engineering Week.
The event is back for its 12th year with an exhibition of local employers and colleges at the Scarborough Spa.
More than 30 organisations will be part of the showcase sponsored by mining company Anglo American.
Live demonstrations will aim to inspire the next generation to pursue careers in industry, research and tech.
More than 33,000 students have visited since its inception, with some going onto success with some of the companies that exhibited during the first few Science and Engineering Week events.
For anyone wanting to attend, there will be an open session on the evening of the opening day Tuesday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
No booking is required and is for parents, as well as adults seeking to change careers.
Groups from local primary and secondary schools will be visiting during the week, and a prestigious business dinner and award ceremony will be held on Wednesday night.
Sam Alexander, from York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership said:
“This is a hugely exciting annual event, helping to build aspiration and opportunity for young people across the coast and beyond.”
