A veteran from Scarborough is set to run 11 kilometres until Friday 11th November to raise money for charity.

Lee Holmes served in the 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment (Green Howards) for six years.

He has been running 11km each day since Tuesday 1st November and will continue until this Friday, when it is Remembrance Day.

Lee is supporting veterans charity FirstLight Trust in Scarborough who helped and supported him.

He said: "I've got a route planned and at 11am on Friday I'm going to run and finish at Oliver's Mount in Scarborough where the War Memorial is. I'm probably going to take a few pictures and I'm going to run with the Yorkshire Regiment flag with me and celebrate finishing a job well done.

"I'm doing this because the 11th is significant and previously the FirstLight Trust have helped me out and I've always wanted to repay that.

"I got out in 2013 and FirstLight Trust secured some funding for me to do some training which led to some work. It eased the pressure of that situation."
