Scarborough tops 1,300 Coronavirus cases
It's after another 91 new infections since Friday

The Scarborough borough has now recorded more than 1,300 cases since the pandemic began.
Since Friday 91 new cases have been confirmed, bringing the overall total to 1,355.
The borough’s seven-day infection rate per 100,000 people has also jumped up from this time last week. It now stands at 143, compared to 122 seven days ago and 92 two weeks ago.
Tuesday last week also saw more infections in one 24 hour period than any other day so far during the pandemic, with 38 cases recorded. Previously, the most in one 24 hour period was 32, on April 26.
The jump in infections comes as the country gets ready to go back into lockdown on Thursday.
Today, a mobile testing facility will be at the Guisborough Road park and ride site in Whitby, before being open at Scarborough’s Seamer Road park and ride site on Wednesday.
The testers will then be back in Whitby on Thursday.
The testing has been organised by the Department of Health and Social Care, which has warned people to not just turn up but make an appointment first.
There are two ways to do this, depending on which testing group you are part of.

People who do not have access to the internet, or who have difficulty with the digital portals, can ring the 119 service to book.
