Scarborough is to lose its Dorothy Perkins store inside the Brunswick Centre.
Online retailer Boohoo has bought the brand including Wallis and Burton for £25.2 million.
The deal includes all the e-commerce and digital assets for the labels but the deal does not include its 214 retail stores, concessions or franchises.
It is understood nearly 2,500 staff at Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burton could lose their jobs.
They were all part of the Arcadia Group which went into administration in December.
This news comes as a few weeks ago, Boohoo also bought Debenhams for £55 million to re-brand it as online-only.
It also follows the news of online retailer ASOS buying the Topshop, Topman and Miss Selfridge brands last week for £330 million and will not be keeping the stores.
Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Topshop and Topman have all been based at The Brunswick Shopping Centre in Scarborough.
