Scarborough man to skydive to raise money for Andy's Man Club
He's aiming to raise £500 for the charity that brings men who might feel isolated together
A Scarborough man is doing a skydive on Friday to raise money to support a charity which promotes positive mental health.
Kieran Grzesiowski is backing Andy's Man Club which is a group primarily where men who might want the company of others get together.
He is hoping to bring in around £500 and says the person who donates the most can choose what he wears for the dive.
Kieran said: "My girlfriend actually got me the tandem skydive for Christmas and at first I was 'oh I'm just going on a skydive' but then I decided to do something with it so I thought I'd raise money for a charity. My girlfriend told me all about Andy's Man Club in Scarborough and I thought 'that's a good one for me'.
"Whoever donates the most money they can pick an outfit for me to wear just so to add a bit of competitiveness and a bit more fun to it so I'm not just skydiving. If someone wants to make me wear a pink tutu then I guess I can wear a pink tutu. I just thought it would be a bit of fun and people can have a laugh.
"The other day a lad messaged me saying that he finds it so much better to speak to strangers than his own family. So many people have been in touch with me now since I've said I'm doing it for Andy's Man Club and it's just put a smile on my face and theirs.
"Mental health is unheard of a lot. People don't take it seriously as you think it is even though it affects a lot of people, so many people I've spoken to and have messaged me have struggled so hard. Even if it's a small donation or even if you share the post that I've put on then that will help."
