Struggling families in Scarborough are being helped by the Salvation Army during this bank holiday weekend.
It has been handing out food parcels to those in need in the town just like many other charities.
Major Stephen Noble who is from The Salvation Army in Scarborough, said:
"The demand has continued at a fairly steady level. I honestly can't say that it's dramatically increased in the lead up to the Easter weekend, but what we have done is we're going to be open on Tuesday 6th April to ensure that if anybody struggled over the weekend, then we'll be able to provide a provision of food on Tuesday.
"We've been incredibly blessed by people who've made donations financially, food and local supermarkets donating and provide a whole manner of things like chocolates, Easter eggs and Cadbury Creme Eggs which are kind of a luxury but they're a lovely thing to be able to give out to communities in need.
"It's very difficult to kind of estimate just the blessing that a food parcel brings. We're working very closely with local schools and so we're able to provide currently not just food parcels, but we're providing breakfast parcels so that some families who are struggling are also able to have food with their children over a weekend.
