People living in Scarborough should be 'proud' of how they've adapted to life during the covid-19 pandemic.

That's the view of the Council's leader Steve Siddons.

He's optimistic that better times are ahead:

"We're all in this together. Whether it's home schooling or not seeing relatives, we've all done it together.

"I think it's brought out the best in people.

"It's been so hard for people who've lost loved ones in this time, and I extend my sympathies to those families.

"Businesses and employers here have faced months of uncertainty as well.

"It's something I would've never anticipated, and it's brought a vast amount of challenges."

Mr. Siddons went on to thank his colleagues:

"I've got to praise the people who work under me at Scarborough Council for the work and dedication they've shown over the past twelve months.

"They've done some fantastic work to keep vital services going throughout all this."
