A mum from Scarborough's been describing how having a lockdown baby affected her mental health.

Disa Molesbury gave birth at the town's hospital earlier this year.

She said:

"Having a baby in lockdown was definitely a different experience from when I had my son five years ago.

"It was daunting, it put a lot of pressure on not just my mental health, but of other people who were having babies as well.

"It was scary if anything was going on with you or the baby and there were times where I was in hospital for up to a week on my own.

"Obviously you miss your other kids, your partner and you miss the support of your mum.

"My mum was a big support and this time round, because of lockdown, my mum wasn't able to help out with my son and my pregnancy was awful towards the end.

"The staff at Scarborough Hospital are doing an amazing job, but I do feel like they were put under a lot of stress and pressure, which obviously isn't fair on them because their mental health is important too.

"The midwives and the consultants who helped me near the end, they deserve a big thank you."

We're asking 10,000 people to commit to doing something nice for someone else ahead of World Mental Health Day on Saturday, as part of our our #PledgeKindness campaign.
