A mindset coach from Scarborough is offering advice on how to cope with stress during the Coronavirus pandemic.

With the worst restrictions being placed upon areas in the North, Founder of 'Freedom of Alignment Method' is offering her advice.

She says the situation brings a huge degree of stress and anxiety; many businesses are not getting proper support and face potential closure, people are isolated and unable to mix with their families, the messages from the government are confusing and frustrating.

Her focus is helping people to dissolve feelings of stress, fear and anxiety, without needing medication, or traditional therapy.

As a proud northerner, Kirsty says she is passionate and deeply concerned about the impact these new restrictions will have on her wider community and wants to help.

She maintains stress can lower the immune system, as the body reacts to its effects.

She said:

"We have no control over this. Absolutely none whatsoever. If it happens, it happens. we can't predict the future, we don't know what's going to happen. But one thing we do have control over, is the way that we approach something, so the meaning we give it."

Here are her three main tips to combat anxiety:

  1. Take three simple deep breaths.
  1. Be in the moment - work out what you're focusing on and if its negative, move on to something else.
  1. Think about gratitude and the things we can all be thankful for.
