A man from Scarborough has been telling us about his 'rewarding experience' as a vaccine volunteer.

Tony Bates says helping out with the local vaccination programme at the local rugby club has been a really rewarding experience:

"When we saw that this was happening, myself and my wife thought that we had to step in.

"We've got a hotel which isn't open yet, so we've had extra time on our hands, and we were very impressed with the whole process."

Mr. Bates first found out about the opportunity via social media:

"Once I got there, there was a lady who kind of needed talking into it almost, and once she came out, she thanked myself and others for reassuring her.

"Generally, you've been able to see the relief on people's faces once they've had their jab; you can definitely sense it, and I feel good for playing a part in the process."
