Scarborough's infection rate rises further
The borough's seven-day rate has jumped to 375 per 100,000.
Scarborough’s Coronavirus infection rate continues to rise, as the new stay at home orders come into force.
The borough is averaging more than 58 cases every 24 hours as its seven day infection rate per 100,000 people has gone up to 375 having stood at 320 on Monday.
A total of 4,242 cases have now been recorded in the borough since the start of the pandemic and, as of Monday, 40 Covid patients were in beds at Scarborough Hospital.
Scarborough’s infection rate remains below the average for England, which is 592 and has fallen behind the average for North Yorkshire, which has jumped up to 382.
Richmondshire has the highest rate in the county at 480 cases per 100,000 people, followed by Craven at 443 and Selby at 384.
Mobile testing sites will be in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey at different times during the week for people with coronavirus symptoms to get tested.

Scarborough’s walk-in coronavirus testing site at William Street Coach Park is offering testing, seven days a week, from 8am until 8pm.
Appointments for all sites must be booked in advance.
