It's thanks to a 500-thousand pounds donation from the country's only charity dedicated to funding hospital helipads

Scarborough Hospital is welcoming a new state-of-the-art helipad today.
It will enable immediate access when transporting seriously ill and injured patients to the Emergency Department.
It is thanks for a donation of £500,000 from the HELP Appeal, which is the country's only charity dedicated to funding hospital helipads.
Dr. Ed Smith, Consultant and Deputy Medical Director at Scarborough Hospital, said: "We've been lucky enough to secure some funding from the HELP Appeal to effectively build a new one because we're on the point of launching a new build, an urgent, emergency care and critical care unit, so we need the helipad to be slightly further away, bigger, newer and state-of-the-art.
"This new helipad will allow us to correlate all types of helicopters including the coastguard helicopters which are really, really important for patients to be transported into the hospital and sometimes out of the hospital environment in Scarborough to locations elsewhere where they can receive specialist care if needed.
"We used helicopters to transport people who have time critical illnesses or injury or often people who've sustained injuries or illness in places which are difficult to access via road. We have people being transported in from either coastal areas or from rural and forested areas."
