Goldwings Light Parade returns to Scarborough
The event is back after three years
Thousands of bike fans from around the UK are coming to Scarborough for the Goldwings Light Parade.
The event is back after three years and takes place all day and night for free on the South Bay to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Daytime Static Display
Before the evening's parade by night there will be a static display of the motorcycles, running from 10am to 4pm, on West Pier and Foreshore Road. Amongst the activities taking place during the six-hour display, the Mayor of Scarborough will judge his favourite trike and draw a raffle. Yorkshire Air Ambulance will run a gift shop and tombola.
The Evening Parade
Assembly for the parade begins from 6.30pm, giving the bikes time to arrange in parade formation. The parade starts at 8pm, leading the riders south along the Foreshore to the roundabout. From there, the procession turns back along Foreshore Road and around Marine Drive, looping at Peasholm and returning to South Bay promenade.

Danielle Reed is the organiser and she said: "It'll give the public a chance to look at the bikes, have photos with the bikes, meet the riders and it gives the riders a chance to meet others. At 8pm the parade will start and it does a full loop of the seafront and then we finish the night off at 9.30pm with fireworks on the beach.
"It's a big one. It's definitely one that goes on Scarborough's map and it attracts thousands. This will be the fourth year but it hasn't been on in three years.
"The parade is magical. It's one you have to go and see. When you get them bikes on that beach leaving that pier with all their lights on, the music and fancy dress, it's just magical. You get people going with their kids in pyjamas and it's seeing everybody's faces as those bikes leave and go past."
