Two drug dealers who ran a cocaine supply network in Scarborough and Filey are behind bars.

20-year-old Myles Alan Coe, of Grange Avenue in Filey, and 23-year-old Reece Connor Gibson, of Norman Crescent in Filey, admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine when faced with what police described as overwhelming evidence. Coe also admitted possessing cocaine.

At York Crown Court on September 4th, Coe was sentenced to five years in a Young Offender’s Institute, while Gibson was jailed for two years and four months.

A third defendant, 41-year-old Rebecca Rhodes, of Scarborough Road in Filey, also admitted supplying cocaine and possessing heroin and cocaine. She will be sentenced at a later date.

The investigation began in August last year when Rhodes was arrested in connection with another matter and her phone was seized.

Forensic analysis revealed thousands of drug-related conversations, including more than three hundred message streams from customers, as well as images showing cocaine being weighed, bagged and cut with other substances.

Detectives found Gibson worked closely with Rhodes, often swapping customers or supplying each other when stock was low.

Coe was identified as one of their main suppliers. Once drugs were bought from him, Rhodes and Gibson would split and bulk out the cocaine before selling it on for profit.

During the case, more than one hundred pieces of evidence were presented and over one thousand pounds in cash was seized. Other suspects linked to the supply chain are still being dealt with separately.

Detective Constable Sam Rivers said drug supply “causes nothing but misery” and “preys on the vulnerable while the suppliers live the high life.”
