Scarborough Athletic and Scarborough Ladies Football Clubs are set to run an open age team for the 2021-22 season.

It is after positive talks with Scarborough Ladies FC, and a good level of interest in playing for the new side, that Athletic have agreed to work together to provide this opportunity and provide a clear pathway for young females in the Scarborough and District area to continue playing football after they graduate from their sister club’s Under 18 squad.

As a result, there will be an Open Training Session for prospective players to attend tonight (Tuesday 13th July) from 7pm to 8.30pm at Filey Community Sports Club, Scarborough Road, Filey, YO14 9NJ.

Football Development Director, Paul Exley, said:

"The formation of a female team fulfils one of our Community objectives and inclusivity in the Community. We continue to strive to develop grassroots football and beyond in our local area".

They are also looking for coaches to support the team at training and at fixtures.
