Scarborough’s coronavirus infection rate remains below the national average.

The borough’s seven-day coronavirus infection rate, per 100,000 people, is now 23, up from its low of 17 last week - but still below the average rate for England, which is 25.

Just two weeks ago, Scarborough had the eighth highest rate in England when it crept above 50.

Hambleton has the lowest rate in North Yorkshire of just 8, while Selby once again has the highest with its infection rate now at 49.

Mobile testing facilities will be available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey this week, for anyone with symptoms to get tested.
