Scarborough’s coronavirus infection rate has started to fall once more.

The borough’s seven-day coronavirus infection rate, per 100,000 people, is now 20 - up from its low of 17 last week, but down three from yesterday.

Just two weeks ago, Scarborough had the eighth highest rate in England - when it crept above 50.

The borough is averaging three new cases every day.

Hambleton has the lowest rate in North Yorkshire, of just seven, while Selby once again has the highest, as its rate rose slightly to 52.

Mobile testing facilities will be available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey this week, for anyone with symptoms to get tested.
