Scarborough coronavirus infection rate drops again

It's at its lowest since September

Scarborough’s coronavirus infection rate continues to drop as it reached a new landmark today.

The borough’s seven day infection rate per 100,000 people has fallen to 69 its lowest level since September 30 and a drop off 11 on yesterday.

Scarborough is now averaging 11 new cases every day, compared to 17 last week.

The average infection rate for England stands at 141 while in North Yorkshire as a whole has now dropped below 100 to 99.

Mobile testing facilities will be available in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey this week for anyone with symptoms to get tested.

William Street Coach Park in Scarborough is still offering testing seven days a week from 8am until 8pm.
