Scarborough coronavirus case rate continues to fall

Scarborough’s Covid-19 infection rate is continuing to fall, after 69 new cases have been added in the last 24 hours.
The borough’s infection rate per 100,000 population on a seven-day average has now dropped to 452 having stood at 526 yesterday.
Scarborough’s rare remains ahead of every other North Yorkshire district and also the average for England, which is 259.
The borough’s overall total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now 2.470.
Mobile testing sites will be visiting the borough this week.
They will be at Scarborough’s Seamer Road park and ride site today and Whitby’s park and ride site, on Guisborough Road tomorrow.
Scarborough’s walk-in testing site at the William Street Coach Park is also open seven days a week, from 8am until 8pm.
